An Indonesian village realized change
An ancient story of the Quechua people in Peru told how a hummingbird became a hero. When a fire broke out in the forest, the bird repeatedly flew back and forth from the lake to the fire to get water to help put out the fire. When other animals laughed at it, it replied "I'm doing what I can." A simple yet very difficult action to take. That’s why the story became an inspiration.
In Indonesia, this inspirational story comes from Kampung Ramah Lingkungan (KRL) Asri Village, RW 27, in Gunung Putri, Bogor. They joined the “Mizuiku - I Love Clean Water" sustainable program organized by the Suntory Garuda Beverage (SGB) Group (a leader in the beverage industry) to educate children about the importance of clean water and enrolling them as agents of change in their communities.
